Re: Technical Question about "Slew Rate"...
Thanks, ttocs! I appreciate the explanation. I was suspicious of that selling angle because I looked in the M44 manual and saw nothing about slew rate.

Technical Question about "Slew Rate"...
Hey everybody. I recently read an Ebay listing for an old Alpine "Juba" amp that was describing the sound quality by pointing out a fast "slew rate". What is "slew rate" and how would you describe the slew rate of the old-school PG amps, specifically the M or MS series?...

Re: Trying somethign new :-)
last year just a modest sytem with a dcon the xs2500 and 4600. When the 4600 blew and took out my rsd6.5s I threw in us amps 425 and 150 with some vintage mb quarts. Last few years were RSD10s. I gotta say. For a modest system with not a lot of power the dcon is badass. This year is matts again ,.....

Re: honda civic sub question what have you used
went to your install looks very very nice is it loud? looks very old school and nice! Well, I'll never have to worry about cracking my windshield. :) My system is geared toward SQ and not SPL. Hell, it's only 210 total rated watts! [(40w x 4) + (25w x 2)] But for a single 12" in sealed box, I ...

Re: honda civic sub question what have you used
kg1961, Good afternoon. Have you checked out the install in my 1999 Civic Si in the "installs" section? I have a single RF Punch 12 in a 1.1 cu./ft. mounted in the spare tire well facing straight up. It's powered by the M25. I think it sounds pretty good. The old box I originally built for...

Your Civic is amazing and that system is out of control!
Quick question: Did you have to upgrade the rear suspension to handle the additional weight of the system?

Re: New "Old-School" install in my 1999 Civic Si...(Updated!
Well, I finally installed my recently acquired old MB Quart QSD 216 6 1/2" components. The installation certainly won't win any beauty pageants, but it is solid. I originally started this project with the intention of using fiberglass molded to the door panel (like the excellent tutorial on the...

Re: Sub amp thrown a wobbly
Just checked the titanium 12s are 3.01 ohms each, so is that right that wiring them both direct to the amp shows a 1.5 ohms load?? maybe need two amps then if thats the case, oh well .... Just had a good look at this amp and seems nothing wrong, like its stuck in shutdown Well, if you were running ...

Re: Sub amp thrown a wobbly
I had both subs wires running to the amp nad not to each other? does that help, is series where I would wire the amp to one sub, then from one sub to the other? wouldnt that be very quiet at 6ohms? It doesn't matter if you run wires from each sub directly to the amp's speaker terminals. It will sti...

Re: Sub amp thrown a wobbly
Sounds like you had the subs wired in parallel for a 1.5 ohm load, instead of series for a 6 ohm load.
I doubt the ZX600 would last long bridged with a 1.5 ohm load.

Sounds like a great plan!
Man, I would love to get my hands on an M100. Although I'm extremely happy with the M25 and M44, I'd love to use an M100 on the sub.

Re: 4th order isobaric box/es.
I know it is, but I use the BC for "mood" adjustment or for when songs don't have enough low end (like Metallica's pre Justice albums) "Shortest Straw" is ridiculous when played on a good system with a tight sub. I'm only running my Punch 12 with an M25 and the Punch sounds like...

Hey guys. Thanks for all of the information and great advice. I really appreciate it. :) I think I'm going to mount them off-axis down with the 6 1/2" mid instead of the sail panel. I'm happy with how the current tweeter sounds on the bridge over the current 5 1/4" mid, plus it will be sig...

Question about tweeter placement and aiming...
Hey everybody. I recently received and will soon be installing an old but awesome set of MB Quart 6 1/2" Q-Series QSD 216's to replace the old and tired Quart 5 1/4" reference-series components in my doors. This is a serious all-around upgrade: bigger mid, much bigger tweeter, and better c...

I assume he like it all for the sake of old times but wondered if I was the only one. Personally, the reason I love the old stuff is that it's equipment I coveted as a college student in the early to mid 90s which I couldn't afford at the time. But now that's I'm technically an adult with a job, it...

Re: Soundigital wallet sized class d amp.
I deleted my original post because I was unnecessarily harsh when describing a product I know nothing about, and I was "judging a book by its cover" which certainly isn't fair.
However, if you want to read it, it's quoted in the post below.

Re: How to Build Kick Panels
Thanks ttocs. I appreciate it. I have a little experience with fiberglass, but only to repair a crack in the plastic mold of my door panel near the finger cup to pull the door shut. (I have the blue 1999 Civic Si in the "installs" thread.) Hopefully I'll be acquiring some old 6.5" Qua...
