@ Eric... what size did you find that drilling the holes worked well, I have tried drilling #4's but seem to be too small and #6 seems too big, or is that I should be tapping them also??
But looks real good man...

Oh! And I havent forgotten about what I promised a scan of, I just happen to have handed that amp over to someone for the time being, but will be getting it back this weekend i think...

HEY ERIC- also just noticed that your board on the left side as pictured in this thread...it's serial number is 2710358... funny as one of my boards is 2710318 - exactly just 40 off... - but in same sink I also have the 2710319 - IOW my cousin 475 has consecutive serial numbers...
And/but we both have that cluster fuck of caps and resisters/didodes that PG built up for stiffening/trimming - over by the input caps.

AHYWHO- GREAT NEWS GUYS!!!! Got a local PC guy that has found the match for FRANKING stuff... Attached is swatch but it does it no justice... much better freshly painted and live in person.... The red / pinkish dots show up better in person

sink goes off next week to get covered with a new set of clothes and will be all buttoned up here shortly!!!

the matching color/coating is a two stage (double pass) of paint... first there is a base coat that gets cooked on, then a top coat. The guys quoted me 130 for this frank paint (and any two stage process PC'ing), for single stage (grey white etc), just 95.00

Seems/sounds kinda high but he/theysaid that if I can bring more than just one sink at a time getting all same color, there would be better pricing, but for now (as I just met these guys) he is quoting me off the books in the shop, when they get familiar with the sinks, the more I can have it job ready (sanded/smoothed down etc...) the better chance I would be able to get better pricing...

if there is any stripping of old paint involved it's gonna be more... BUT he said he/they/you can PC over PC... it gives it a little more of a textured looks... not quite / just shy of like a hammered look, but a texture like waves/i dunno what, but sounds like it'd be just fine to PC over PC...

Thinking I'll have maybe another piece go in to get PC'ed while this MS475 sink goes in. Not sure what, need to think/consider but very cool to have found someone as intimate with PC'ing as these guys are I found. They are bunch of bikers with jewerly all in their face and stuff... listening to Fu-Schnickens in the shop when I was there... funny group of guys. Nice guys though...

well although this is not final final... i do have sneak peek for folks as to what i have in store with respect to this and quite possibly other amps now. I have always been fond of the clamp down bars and thought/decided that would be the way I want to go with the MS475. SOOOO i made a few bars up as samples. These are easy to do... just time and a little attention... I have the material to make up a fist full of these things. just got started this evening and this is what I came up with.
The 475 of course will have matching Franked PC on the clamp down bars that I plan to use.

These here i did this evening are gold colored, but may eventually get anodized gold or something....

I only just saw this thread. I was going to say I have some MS-275 (revision I) clamp down bars you could of had free - enough for your two amps. I am making a better method of clamping them down. When my other items arrive I can finally finish mine. They will look a fair bit different inside :)

just to catch everyone up

the amp has had caps done but not the BB's as prolly originally mentioned on pg 1...

but check out sink
holes came out fab- hehe snicker snicker
sink is perfect match now for 2 275's!
and with consecutive serial number 275's
really makes it as OEM as ur gonna get!

man that looks beautifull man, but I can't help but think that the black terminals would look a little better then the white personally.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

yeah perhaps there is some merit to that ^^ but in the mindset of keeping OEM as possible.. the cousin w2ould have to look just like it's cousin and uncle...., no?

and they are not white TTOCS they are grey in fact... are you seeing them as white?

yeah it's itchy's
this amp sold summer of 09 to him and had been gone/through a number of work thru's, re-do's...and finally got it done
think you saw it in its very begining stages... now finally completed....i will try take better pics of internals...itchy might have pics from i sent after doing caps and various stages....

just trying to get caught up with a couple projects / jobs i promised and havent delivered on...pedi-dan-randy are all very patientially waiting just like itchy did for 18 months

i still have to get pedi's surfboard glass beaded...but after JK's expirience with plating after glass beading, and contaminate issues in mine...it has been like 1 thing after the next it seems... pedi- dan- and randy are all on the forefront of my thoughts and attention...just get distractions or hold ups from time to time that just get in way of moving forward with some of these projects...and makes me kinda sick to my stomach that it took me 18 months to do this. and a year for pedis plating job...dans shit randys stuff... its coming but just is hard sometimes....

just glad that this one is done- as it was the oldest project i comitted to.

Fun thing is that i will get the white one finished during my time off work from the 24th of december until the 10th of january. They would make a great pair, i think.
